Chapplle Hill, TX to Giddings, TX

Total miles pushed: 39

7 to 8AM – We loaded up the truck and got ready to continue the push towards Austin.

8:30 to 10AM – I pushed for five miles from Chappell Hill into Brenham, TX. We looked around the town of Brenham, TX and took some pictures in town. We went by Blinn Junior College to see where Michael Bishop had led Blenn Jr. College to two national Jr. College championships in 1995 and 96. I had come to know Michael through my work with the K-State football team when he came there to be our starting quarterback in 1997. At Kansas State in 1998, Michael had led us within 2 double overtimes of a trip to the national championship game with Tennessee. Michael is now leading the Toronto Grand Rapids Rampage team to victory. He threw a 67 yard touch down pass for a victory on Aug 25, 2004. Way to go Michael!

10 to 12 Noon – I continued to push from Brenham toward Giddings, TX for fifteen minuets through the rolling hills of Texas. The hills made my average mph a little less than I had expected.

12 Noon to 1PM – We took an hour break for lunch and fluids.

1 to 4:30PM – I continued to push on towards Giddings. The scenery on the way was really breathtaking. We stopped along the way for two different breaks to get water and Gatorade, and to take in the beautiful landscape.

4:30PM – We loaded up the truck and headed on towards our hotel for the evening.

6PM to 12 Midnight – We took a break for a healthy dinner and then got back to work. Dora continued to work on media contacts for the remainder of the tour while I worked on revising my book. I realized that in order to get my book up to par I would have to put a tremendous amount of time into revisions and updating the book up to a very high standard. I found that there was still a lot of information that I felt would be important to people. The book is taking a lot of time on this tour, but I feel that it is necessary, and worthwhile.

12:15 – We went to bed.
