Media events in Houston
Total miles pushed: 25
5:30AM – We got ready and drove to the KHOU CBS TV station in Houston where I was appearing on the morning news program.
MEDIA: 7:30AM – I had an interview with Channel 11 KHOU CBS anchor, Debora Duncin. Debora did a great job with the interview and I was able to speak about all of the major points of the tour including the fact that I would be working with Houston Community leaders to create lasting health and fitness initiatives for all citizens in the Houston community. Debora joked that the bad thing about having me on the show was that now she could not have any excuses for getting in better shape. She told me about how she had recently had a child and was using that as a reason to slack on her fitness, but after meeting me she would not be able to use that excuse anymore.
8:30AM – We returned to the apartment. Dora sent email to media and city offices in the Austin area while I made some phone calls.
9AM – We uploaded, resized, named, and emailed the photos from today’s interview at KHOU.
9:30AM to 1PM – Andy continued to work on creating files for our newspaper clippings while Dora ran some errands and continued to work on making contacts in the Austin area and I worked on editing my book, A Nation at War.
MEDIA : 9:50AM – I had a phone interview with Palestine, TX radio station KNET 1450AM host Gary Richards.
12 Noon – We took a break for lunch.
1 to 3:30 PM I pushed another 25 miles at Memorial Park to stay loose. This is also where I had trained to prepare for the “BIG PUSH”
4 to 7 PM – I continued to edit my book, A Nation at War. Dora continued to work on media for Austin and to look into contacts for San Marcos and San Antonio. I finished editing my book and emailed it to Phil Elmore for a final review.
7 to 9PM – Dora and Andy went to buy groceries and office supplies and to run some general errands.
9:30PM – We went to bed.
