Meeting with Mayor Flores of Laredo and Offical push over U.S. / Mexican border

Thursday, September 9th is the official push over the Mexican border from Laredo, TX to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico!

8:00AM – We got ready to drive to City Hall and meet with the Mayor of Laredo, TX. Rudy Sanchez met us at our hotel once again to show us the way to the Mayor’s office.

9:00AM – We arrived at the Laredo City Hall and I did a couple of interviews as we waited for the meeting with the Mayor.

9:30 to 10:15AM – I met with Mayor Elizabeth “Betty” Flores of Laredo, TX.

10:45AM – I pushed my chair from the Laredo, TX City Hall over the bridge to cross the border into Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Half way across the bridge there was a ribbon set up which I broke through to signify the official end to the “Big Push.”

3PM – Dora, Andy, and I went to the market in Nuevo Laredo to buy some gifts for friends and family and to spend some time relaxing in celebration of the completion of the “Big Push”

10PM – We went to bed.
