September 3, 2004 was declared "Kevin Saunders Day" in San Antonio, TX
7 to 8AM – We packed up to move to another hotel.
11:30AM to 12 Noon – We went to meet with Mayor Pro Tem Richard Perez of San Antonio. I was presented with a proclamation declaring September 3, 2004 Kevin Saunders Day in San Antonio. I presented Mayor Pro Tem Perez with a sculpture thanking them for their commitment to fitness and health for the community of San Antonio and for their support of the Health and Fitness Tour of America.
Mayor Pro Tem Perez told us about how Mayor Ed Garza had started “Fit City” a health and fitness initiative for San Antonio. He told us to find more information by going to http://www.sanantonio.gov/ and looking under the Fit City link.
We told him that we’d like to offer our services to help from the Health and Fitness Tour of America and our partners to help San Antonio to achieve their goals of becoming a healthier city.
MEDIA: 3PM – Newspaper interview with Bill Pack from the San Antonio Express.
4PM – We unloaded the truck and checked into the Woodfield Suites hotel.
